About

I am Mason McGlothlin, and I do web development. I have a degree in Computer Information Technology from Texas Christian University. The Computer Information Technology program is offered as part of the Computer Science Department at TCU's College of Science and Engineering. This education afforded me a strong foundation in programming.

During college, I obtained an IT internship at Terma North America, the US subsidary of the largest defense contractor in Denmark. I utilized my developing skills to develop web applications that filled in the functional gaps of our IFS ERP system. My skills proved useful, and upon graduation from TCU I was hired by TNA as a Business Systems Analyst. Responsibilities included supporting the company's ERP system, including the implementatation and documentation of previously unused modules, and training employees to use the system. When the ERP system did not support the features we needed, I often used my programming skills to add functionality.

Also during college I started a small business called Competitive Gaming Audio LLC to take advantage of a niche market. I took off the shelf gaming audio components and sold them in packages via a website that I created. It served as a great learning opportunity and I got to see the supply chain aspect of doing business with headset manufacturers. Eventually my day job became my top priority and I made the difficult decision to close down Competitive Gaming Audio.

Currently I own Mason McGlothlin Consulting LLC, so that I may engage in consulting and web application development on the side if I have the spare time.

I am active on Stack Overflow, a Question & Answer site for programmers. I am in the top 1% on the site for C# and ASP.NET. See my Stack Overflow Career Profile.
